Category – Demystifying Doors and Door Hardware

Ever since Columbine, school safety has rivaled curriculum in importance for school board members and administrators across the country. However, as mass casualty events continue to make news more than a quarter century later, we have to ask if we retain – and, more importantly, are implementing – the lessons learned? And how can these lessons help schools handle mass casualty events, other emergencies, discipline incidents such as fights and gang activities, and conflict resolution?

PASS subject matter experts will review the history of school violence and discuss the positive impact these lessons have on daily school activities. These experts will also examine the challenges of consistently implementing and maintaining risk-assessment-based school safety standards and some available technology for school security administrators.
