Michele Gay is a mother, former teacher, and founder of Safe and Sound: A Sandy Hook Initiative. After losing her daughter, Josephine Grace, on Dec. 14, 2012, in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, she chose to take action as an advocate for schools safety and security improvements. A nationally-recognized school safety expert, Michele has shared her story and comprehensive school safety approach with educational leaders, public safety leaders,l government officials and school communities across the nation.
