Joining 200+ Volunteers to Upgrade Englewood, CO, School Safety Technology According to PASS Guidelines for Convergint Social Responsibility Day 2025

June 23, 2025|Partner Alliance for Safer Schools

Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) Board Chairman Chuck Wilson recently participated in PASS Partner Convergint’s Social Responsibility Day 2025. Convergint led the massive volunteer effort, harnessing the skills and knowledge of more than 200 volunteers for a full day (and some continuing service) to overhaul school safety technology at Colorado’s Finest High School of Choice in Englewood, Colorado.

On receiving the extensive volunteer labor and state-of-the-art technology that would otherwise cost about $330,000, Englewood Schools Superintendent Joanne Pulson emphasized in a Denver7 news report, “It would have taken us years to complete what Convergint is doing in one day. Now we’ll be able to spend other funds on our students and our hard-working staff. We’re just incredibly grateful.” She added, “We want to make sure our students feel safe, and when they’re feeling safe, we know they can learn.”

State-of-the-Art School Safety Technology

Security technology pros showed up bright and early, collaborating to do the extensive installation throughout the high school. Technologies installed or upgraded included:

  • Lock down buttons
  • Vape and aggression sensors
  • Access card readers
  • 360 security cameras

PASS Guidelines in Action

In addition to the school safety technology upgrades, volunteers, and the team at Convergint did a great job of applying the layered security model as outlined within the PASS Guidelines.

“It was impressive, a great experience, and a wonderful cause,” Chuck emphasized. “It was great to see the guidelines and checklist in action.” He added, “It will be exciting for the faculty to return this fall and see the new safety and security technology we have implemented, as well as go through the new procedures and training for its usage. The mission of PASS is to create an environment where everyone feels safer and to enhance their academic success.”

Convergint 24th Annual Social Responsibility Day

PASS was honored to have a chance to participate in support of our partners at Convergint and this massive global initiative. Convergint brought together 174 community organizations and 35 schools across 37 countries globally, with nearly 11,000 volunteers from Convergint donating approximately 60,000 hours of their time for the company’s 24th annual Convergint Social Responsibility Day.

“We are proud that today, and for nearly a quarter of a century, our colleagues and industry partners come together in just a 24-hour span as a greater force of good to give back to our communities,” said Ann Fandozzi, CEO, Convergint. “Helping address unmet needs in the communities where Convergint colleagues and their families reside – including secure, safe educational environments to foster positive experiences for the next generation – is core to our values.”

Convergint is a $2.6 billion global, industry-leading systems integrator that designs, installs, and services electronic security, cybersecurity, fire and life safety, building automation, and audio-visual systems. Listed as the #1 systems integrator in SDM Magazine’s Top Systems Integrators Report for the past six years, Convergint leads with over 10,000 colleagues and more than 220 locations worldwide.
