PASS Guidelines in Action at the Summer Summit, 2026

June 17, 2026|Partner Alliance for Safer Schools

Why This Year’s Summer Summit Is Unlike Any Other Event

School Safety in Action

The PASS Guidelines have become a trusted resource for schools seeking a comprehensive, tiered approach to safety and security. However, one of the most common questions school leaders ask is, “What does implementation actually look like?”

The Summer Summit aims to answer that question.

The first annual Summer Summit, taking place July 16-17, 2026, in Concord, North Carolina, bringing together school leaders, security professionals, government officials, mental health experts, and industry partners who share a common goal: creating safer learning environments for students and staff.

But this year’s Summit offers several things attendees won’t find at other conferences.

Rather than limiting discussions to traditional presentations and panel sessions, PASS is introducing a hands-on, field-trip style learning experience that allows attendees to see the latest PASS Guidelines implemented in a real educational environment.

Participants will visit the school campus where the Summit is being held, and observe security professionals applying the PASS Guidelines in real time. Attendees will have the opportunity to see how a layered approach to school safety is evaluated, implemented, and maintained across an actual campus.

From Standards to Strategy: A Unified PASS + ASIS Approach to Safer Schools

School safety leaders are often handed two powerful but separate playbooks: the K-12-specific, tiered guidance of the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) and the enterprise risk-management discipline of ASIS International standards. This session shows how the two work better together—using ASIS as the strategic, risk-based backbone and PASS as the practical application layer for schools. Attendees will see how to move beyond a checklist toward an integrated framework that aligns physical security, technology, training, and culture across every layer of a campus. You’ll leave with a clear approach for assessing where your district stands today and a shared language for converting recognized standards into an actionable safety strategy.

Ask the Experts

The best part: Summit attendees can sit down one-on-one with school security experts at the “Ask Me Anything” booth, and ask questions specific to their individual school’s and district’s security needs. Whether the topic is visitor protocols, access control, emergency communications, threat assessment, funding, or implementation planning, participants can receive practical guidance tailored to their unique circumstances.

What’s even more enticing? This service is available at no extra cost.
